GJIS is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical behavior throughout the publication process. All parties involved—authors, editors, and reviewers—are expected to conform to established ethical conduct.

Through rigorous peer review and editorial scrutiny, GJIS acts as an intellectual gatekeeper, ensuring only high-quality, original scholarship is published. These ethical guidelines detail the responsibilities of each party to maintain compliance with international standards for scholarly publishing.

Responsibilities of the Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit: originality, clarity, relevance, and significance.
  • Make decisions regardless of authors’ race, gender, religion, citizenship, or institutional affiliation.
  • Ensure published work integrity by issuing corrections/retractions when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of submissions.
  • Prohibit personal use of unpublished material in submissions.
  • Ensure quality of language, formatting, and adherence to journal guidelines.
  • Guarantee a fair and appropriate double-blind peer-review process.
  • Select reviewers with expertise aligned to manuscript content.
  • Ensure inclusion of at least one reviewer from the manuscript’s country or region.
  • Secure at least one international and one national reviewer of international repute.
  • Handle conflicts of interest by assigning alternative editors when necessary.
  • Require all contributors to disclose conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure editorial board members have relevant expertise and scholarly reputation.
  • Decide on publication based on scholarly value, peer reviews, and legal compliance.
  • Final decisions are made in consultation with editors, advisors, and reviewers.

Responsibilities of the Reviewers

  • Decline reviews if unqualified or unable to meet deadlines.
  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Conduct reviews objectively and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify relevant literature not cited by the authors.
  • Refrain from using unpublished material for personal research without permission.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Take corrective action in cases of plagiarism, fraud, or misconduct in collaboration with editors.
  • Maintain long-term availability of published content and digital archives.
  • Promptly correct inaccurate or misleading published content.
  • Forward all complaints to the Editor-in-Chief for thorough investigation.

Responsibilities of the Authors

  • Ensure the manuscript is reviewed/edited by an English language expert before submission.
  • Use APA (latest edition) referencing and in-text citation style.
  • Confirm that the manuscript is not under review elsewhere.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest among co-authors.
  • Ensure originality, proper citation of sources, and no plagiarism.
  • Follow international research ethics during all stages of the study.
  • Provide complete and accurate affiliation details for all authors.
  • Do not submit the manuscript elsewhere after it has been accepted for peer review unless rejected.
  • Submit a signed agreement/undertaking granting GJIS non-exclusive publishing rights.
  • Carefully read and comply with all submission requirements outlined in the author guidelines.
